I WAS BACK TO WORK JUST THREE DAYS AFTER MY INJURY…THAT IS INCREDIBLE!
As a foot and ankle surgeon I knew what I would be up against after I got injured. I knew it would be hard to get back to the business of seeing patients and with crutches, even worse, get back to the business of performing my surgeries if I couldn’t have my hands free. It only took a moment to realize what I would need to do to keep me active and in business and not compromise my recovery process.
The next morning after my injury I saw two options, neither of which would resolve my issues. One was regular crutches and the other was the knee scooter. I thought the knee scooter could help but it still wouldn’t keep my hands free to perform my regular activities and surgeries. I then remembered that I saw this device, the iWALK 2.0, at one of my seminars, so I decided to do some research on the internet and call them. I left a message, as it was a Saturday. Surprisingly, I received a called back within 5-10 minutes and iWALK was able to answer all of my questions.
I was so anxious to try the iWALK2.0 and get it to work for me mainly so I could stay hands free. The truth is I was a skeptic and maybe a little scared at first. Was it really going to be as easy to use? But I pushed myself to be committed to get myself very familiar with the product and I was surprised and impressed at how quick and easy it was to learn. I was back to work and effective at my practice just three days after the injury. I was expecting to be out 4-6 weeks; that is incredible!
The iWALK2.0 is a great device that gave me back my functionality even in a scenario that requires that I be sterile, steady, and confident moving around the operating room.
