Summer Disaster Avoided – Family Vacationing With The iWALK2.0!

I was three months non-weight bearing with a shattered ankle, forced to use painful, traditional crutches and bulky knee scooters. Finally, I could take no more. I started looking for an alternative and luckily found the iWALK2.0. It immediately made a huge improvement in my life. Before finding the iWALK2.0 I was afraid that we were going to have to cancel our week-long summer beach vacation. Walking on the sand, enjoying the waves with a broken ankle seemed impossible on crutches, but with the iWALK2.0 I began to think there might be a chance to salvage this vacation after all.

I had been nervous about traveling with my injury, but I knew that everything was going to be OK as soon as I got the iWALK2.0. I was able to carry heavy bags and my children through the airport. Once we arrived, I was amazed at how much I was able to do on the iWALK2.0! I could cook dinner for my family as well as clean up afterwards without pain or inconvenience. Because of the iWALK2.0’s lightweight and waterproof design, I also enjoyed walking on the sand and even playing in the waves a bit with my daughter. I even took my iWALK2.0 on a boat and felt completely comfortable walking around on deck.

iWALK 2.0 For My Broken Ankle

I spent three months non-weight bearing on other mobility devices before discovering the iWALK2.0, so I was able to make several comparisons. In confined spaces, the iWALK2.0 is much easier than a scooter or traditional crutches. You can actually sneak into a room or mill about in a crowd because you can stand and take small steps in any direction more naturally than on crutches or a knee scooter. The iWALK2.0 also worked great with my boot, and since my leg was safely elevated with the crutch, sometimes I cheated and took the boot off while on vacation.

In short, I loved my iWALK2.0. My physical therapist says I have to give it up and start bearing weight on my injured leg. I actually miss it. It gave me a normal life while I was non-weight bearing with my broken ankle. Most importantly, the iWALK2.0 let my family function even while we were on our summer beach vacation!
